DEQ names new Air Quality Administrator

Statewide, Wyo. – The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Director, Todd Parfitt, has named Nancy Vehr as the new Administrator for the Air Quality Division (AQD).

Vehr previously worked at the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office from 1999 to 2013. More recently, Vehr has been an attorney at Hickey & Evans, LLP handling a wide variety of civil and environmental matters. 

“I am really excited to be apart of the team at DEQ,” said Vehr. “I look forward to serving the state and the department.”

Her early tenure with the Attorney General’s office included representing the Office of Medicaid, State Loan and Investment Board, and the Board of Land Commissioners. In her last ten years at the Attorney General’s Office, Vehr served as a Senior Assistant Attorney General representing the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Air Quality Division.

“Nancy joins the DEQ team with outstanding credentials and expertise in air quality issues along with a broad range of management and professional skills,” said Parfitt. “Her extensive background in air quality, leadership and knowledge of environmental regulations will be a tremendous asset to the DEQ, regulated community and citizens of Wyoming.”

According to Parfitt, Vehr will start as the new AQD Administrator on November 30, 2015.

“I also want to thank and recognize Cole Anderson for stepping in and filling the Administrator role during the interim,” added Parfitt. Anderson will resume his leadership role as the Manager for the AQD New Source Review Program.
