Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) Rule
This webpage is home to information and resources pertaining to WDEQ's implementation efforts for the Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) Rule.
About The ACE Rule
The ACE Rule, promulgated on July 8, 2019, addresses CO2 emissions from existing coal-fired power plants. The ACE Rule provides power plant-specific guidelines for setting standards and compliance requirements that achieve emission reductions. The ACE Rule revises framework rules required in Clean Air Act section 111(d), which pertains to existing sources and requires states to develop state plans. As such, Wyoming must develop a state plan and submit it to EPA by December 31, 2022. This virtual session will include an educational presentation covering more specific parts of the ACE Rule. It will also cover the process of setting performance standards that achieve the requirements of the rule – and other general details pertaining to the rule’s requirements.
