Dry Fork Coal Plant

 On May 3, 2006, Basin Electric Power Cooperative filed an Application for a Permit Waiver to construct an electrical generation facility, Dry Fork Station project, with the Industrial Siting Division of the Department of Environmental Quality.  The proposed facility is located in Campbell County north of Gillette.  The project would be capable of generating 422 MW of electrical power.  Construction brgan in the year 2007 and ended in the year 2011.   The application stated that the construction workforce would employ a maximum of 1,019 workers per month and the operations workforce will employ 75 estimated workers.  The construction cost is estimated to be $860 M exclusive of interest. Facility is in operation.  06-01
