Lovett named new Industrial Siting Division Administrator

Statewide, Wyo. – The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Director, Todd Parfitt, has named Brian Lovett as the new Administrator for the Industrial Siting Division (ISD).

Lovett has worked with the department since 1999 in various capacities, more recently being the Outreach Program Manager.

“I look forward to working with Director Parfitt in addressing new and current demands facing the department,” said Lovett.

ISD, through the Industrial Siting Council, assesses socio-economic and environmental impacts for companies planning major industrial developments before they begin the construction permit process.

“Brian brings to his new position excellent credentials and agency experience along with a broad range of management and professional skills,” said Parfitt. “His extensive background in environmental matters along with his leadership and knowledge of regulations will be a tremendous asset to DEQ, the regulated community and citizens of Wyoming.”

According to Parfitt, in addition to leading ISD, Lovett will also assist with overall agency policy guidance, manage spills/complaints, emergency response, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) coordination.

“I also want to thank and recognize Luke Esch for his outstanding work as Industrial Siting Administrator over the last few years,” said Parfitt. “Luke will continue his excellent work as the Solid and Hazardous Waste Administrator and overall support of the agency mission.”   Lovett will assume his new role on April 1, 2016.
