Statewide, Wyo. – The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Director, Todd Parfitt has named Kyle Wendtland as the new Land Quality Administrator for the Land Quality Division.

Wendtland has previously worked in the coal industry as an Environmental Engineer and Manager and was directly responsible for management of environmental air, land, cultural, reclamation, and water permits associated with regulatory mining requirements. This is a great opportunity to work directly with the talented staff of the Land Quality Division that I have been associated with for the past 20 years,” said Wendtland. “I look forward to working with the public trust and industry for the continued responsible development of Wyoming’s minerals.”

During his time in the coal industry, Wendtland was instrumental in receiving several state and national awards for regulatory and reclamation excellence.

“Kyles extensive background in mining, leadership skills and knowledge of environmental regulations and stewardship will be a great asset to the DEQ, regulated community and citizens of Wyoming,” said Todd Parfitt, DEQ Director.
