To provide additional public participation, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will be accepting written and oral comments from the public on its Categorical Use Attainability Analysis (UAA) for Recreation during a public hearing on September 16, 2015 in Casper, Wyoming. The public hearing is slated to begin at 5:30 PM at the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, Basko Building, 2211 King Boulevard in Casper, Wyoming.

This is an additional – the third – opportunity to comment on the analysis since 2009.  The department worked with the public, non-governmental organizations, United States Forest Service, National Park Service, Wyoming Department of Transportation, Wyoming State Parks, Conservation Districts, Bureau of Land Management, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and others to develop and complete this Analysis. DEQ provided two 45-day public comment periods (August 2013, January 2014) and hosted a public meeting in Cheyenne on August 26, 2013.

“I expect each agency to go above and beyond to include the public and in this case DEQ has done that,” said Governor Matt Mead.

DEQ encourages the public to attend the hearing and provide comments. Those wishing to provide comment prior to the public hearing can submit them in writing to: David Waterstreet, Watershed Section Manager, 122 West 25th Street, Herschler Building 4-W, Cheyenne, WY 82002 or by fax at 307-777-5973.
