The funding WDEQ provides through its School Bus Replacement Program allows school districts the flexibility to include the latest safety features in their new buses. Those include seatbelts for every passenger.

The WDEQ created the School Bus Replacement Program in 2016 and has helped replace 92 school buses with about $2.1 million in grant money. The program helps districts buy new buses and helps improve student safety.
