Public Meeting Notice Guernsey Landfill Remediation Project Loan Increase

The Town of Guernsey, in Guernsey, Wyoming, will conduct a public meeting at 6 pm, Mountain Time, on Thursday, July 28, 2022, in the Council Chambers of Town Hall, or go to https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3554185689 to participate online. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information to citizens about the increase in the amount the Town of Guernsey plans to borrow to fund its portion of the cost for the Guernsey Landfill Remediation Project. Currently the Town of Guernsey has secured a loan in the amount of $500,000 from the Wyoming Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund administered by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. Due to projected cost increases, the Town of Guernsey will need to borrow an additional $250,000. At the meeting, the Town of Guernsey will review the project to close and stabilize the Guernsey Landfill and discuss funding considerations. A phased increase in user fee rates was approved and is being implemented to repay the established loan. Loan terms include a 2.5% interest rate and 20-year re-payment period.
