The Voluntary Remediation Program works with businesses, landowners and communities to repair contaminated land and return it to productive use.
Our team assists volunteers through the process of characterizing contaminated sites and developing remedy agreements to establish cleanup requirements. The VRP developed incentives to encourage site owners and potential developers to enter into the voluntary remediation program – which entails voluntarily cleaning up contaminated sites so they are returned to productive uses.
We also assess and clean up orphaned contaminated sites where there are no viable responsible parties.
For businesses, landowners and communities wanting to restore contaminated land, we offer an online Pollution Prevention (P2) toolkit complete with many examples of best practices used in Wyoming.
