DEQ releases online public comment system

Today, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality began accepting electronic comments for rule making and special projects.

According to Todd Parfitt, DEQ Director, the agency will first accept electronic comments for the Solid and Hazardous Waste Division Chapter 1 and 2 Rule Revisions.

“This electronic system allows the public to easily submit comments and upload supporting documents in response to public notices,” said Parfitt. “It enables the agency to organize and respond to comments effectively and efficiently, while providing a better service to the public.”

Those interested in reviewing these rule revisions and/or submitting a comment, may do so by clicking here.

The department is planning to provide this service to all public comment opportunities, including permits, as those capabilities are developed.

The next opportunity to provide electronic comments will be for the Pavillion Investigation Report, the updated draft guidance document related to oil and gas development, and the Air Quality Monitor Network Assessment.
