DEQ conducting Air Quality study of Large Produced Water Disposal Ponds

Upper Green River Basin, WY – The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) – Air Quality Division (AQD) is stationed in the Upper Green River Basin this week conducting an air quality study of large produced water disposal ponds.

The study is part of the AQD’s Upper Green River Basin Ozone Strategy.
“The goal of the study is to develop a method for accurately characterizing disposal pond air emissions,” said Cara Keslar, AQD Monitoring Supervisor.

According to Keslar, AQD and its team of contractors, GSI Environmental Inc., Kassay, Utah State University, and Texas A&M University are working cooperatively with R360 Environmental Solutions, LLC and Anticline Disposal, Inc. to measure air emissions onsite at the LaBarge and Pinedale facilities.

“This is the continuation of the study that took place during the summer,” added Keslar.
