The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is committed to protect, conserve and enhance the quality of Wyoming’s environment for the benefit of current and future generations. DEQ’s primary concerns with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are about EPA’s legal authority to promulgate this rule and DEQ’s practical ability to implement it.
The department is aware that the United States Supreme Court has recently stayed the Clean Power Plan. DEQ continues to review and analyze future actions as litigation continues.
The agency will take advantage of this decision to focus staff resources and time towards the essential duties that protect Wyoming’s environment and human health.
