The Monitoring Program is responsible for all surface water monitoring activities conducted by the Watershed Protection Program.
Program Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: collection, analysis, and reporting of chemical, biological, and physical monitoring data in support of statewide water quality assessment and TMDL development efforts.
Additionally, the Monitoring Program conducts complaint investigations, offers technical support to local groups involved in water quality monitoring and watershed planning, and offers support to WYPDES compliance inspection staff.
Water quality designated uses protected in Wyoming waters: Agriculture, Fisheries, Industry, Drinking water, Recreation, Scenic value, Aquatic life other than fish, Wildlife, and Fish consumption.
